New Resource
|
A new resource for use in schools, colleges and youth clubs is available from Carisma for free loan. It is a DVD of a TV programme called ‘Teenage Trouble’ which looks at how young people are unfairly perceived in our society. It examines how media ‘bad news’ stories about the minority of young people who get into crime stigmatize all young people as ‘trouble makers’. A survey is carried out where people are asked how much crime in Britain is committed by young people… all the answers are in the area of 65-85%. The actual figure is lower… MUCH lower. Find out how people react when young people wearing hoodies offer them cups of tea in the street. Meet young people who have been given ASBOs and decide if you think it was fair. A great discussion starter for PeaceWeek. To book, email the Carisma Office.
