Rev Nims Obunge has had to withdraw from involvement in this year’s Manchester PeaceWeek due to an invitation from the British Council to meet with government and community leaders from 12 African nations to set an agenda for the next year for partnership work. The conference is to be held in Tanzania, not in the UK as he had been initially led to believe, and he will not be able to fulfill both commitments. There is really no comparison in terms of the scale of this opportunity for Nims as a committed Christian and Nigerian to bring his influence to decisions being made affecting the future of a very needy continent. For this reason we as Carisma are releasing him from his commitment to us with our full blessing. All the events Nims was to have taken part in are continuing, with the exception of the Leaders’ Lunch on March 13 which has been cancelled.
