 This year we are delighted to welcome the Old Trafford area into PeaceWeek. Even though this is a separate borough of Greater Manchester, it’s actually right next door to Moss Side and has also had its share of problems with gun, gang and knife crime. So, as well as other activities and assemblies in local schools, the people of Old Trafford will be encouraged to put their ‘Hands Up For Peace’ by coming on the Old Trafford Lantern Parade. This will be happening at the same time as the Moss Side and Longsight marches - Friday March 13. Here are the details:
5.30pm: Meet at Old Trafford Community Centre, Shrewsbury Street.
The route will go down Shrewsbury Street, right on to Ayres Road, then right onto Northumberland Street and straight through Seymour Park and into the Old Trafford Youth Club, where light refreshments will be provided.
