Nims Obunge coming to PeaceWeek

nimsRev Nims Obunge will be speaking at several events during this year’s Manchester PeaceWeek, ‘Peace in the Mix’. Nims is a pastor in London and the chief executive of the Peace Alliance, the organising body of the London Week of Peace. He also acts as an advisor to Government, Police and other national groups and boards on issues of peace and justice.

On Tuesday March 9th Nims will be taking part in the PeaceWeek Debate, an event to which government and police will be invited, and which will be an important opportunity for the community to make its views known as we discuss the issue: “With the recent welcome fall in gun-crime statistics, is there still a need to have a Peace Week?” Venue and further details will be announced soon.

Earlier that day Nims will speak at a lunchtime meeting for Church Leaders (though others are welcome) on how local churches can work for the good of their communities. This will be at 12.30pm at St Brides Church, Old Trafford (map). The event is free but donations to the cost of the lunch will be welcome. Email for more information.

On Wednesday 10th, before returning to London, Nims will speak at the Lord Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast in Manchester Town Hall, which this year has the theme of Peace.  To find out more about this event and inquire about invitations, please send an email.
