PeaceWeek 2008 took place from March 1-9. It saw the return of the Lantern Parade, and the first ever Manchester Peace Awards - the OSBAs (Outstanding Social Behaviour Awards) - which were presented at a special dinner at the City of Manchester Stadium. There was work in more schools than ever before, assemblies, classes, and peace-themed workshops with artists culminating in the new ‘Schools Showcase’, where young people from a number of schools came to present what they had been working on - songs, dance, music, poetry and art. There was also another superb PeaceWeek Launch ‘Bridging the Gap’, another PeaceWeek Shield Football Tournament, and loads more. Check out the photos on Flickr here.
